Anchorage Concert Association Community Engagement Director, Becky Kendall (left), ACA Communications Director Mitchell Hansen and musician Shane Russell stopped by Alaska Public Media to talk about ACA's summer concert series and the Rock the Hill music festival.

On this episode we discuss the Anchorage Concert Association's partnership with the Anchorage Park Foundation to hold free concerts at parks around the city. With venues typically at bars and all-ages shows difficult to find, these concerts bring the music to the people and get folks outside to enjoy the city's green spaces. Concerts have already featured Rosie Rush at Fish Creek Park and R&B Life at Fairview Lions Park with Zen Trembles performing at Pioneer Park on June 26. The shows are on Thursdays from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and are free for all to attend.

We're joined by Anchorage Concert Association Community Engagement Director, Becky Kendall, ACA's Communications Director Mitchell Hansen, and local musician Shane Russell. We discuss the concert series, the upcoming Rock the Hill festival at Hilltop and what it means to the musicians to have these types of shows.

Upcoming concerts:
June 26: Zen Trembles at Pioneer Park
July 10: Girl Crush Midsummer at Winchester Park
July 24: Hope Social Club at Valley of the Moon Park
July 31: The Builders & The Butchers at Eastchester Park
