Broadcast Status

EXPANDED COVERAGE: In addition to KAKM channel 7 (7.1 to 7.4), Alaska Public Media is now broadcasting over-the-air on KTVA channel 11 (11.1 to 11.4) securing broader coverage across Anchorage using an antenna.


🟢 Currently all television and radio broadcast services are operating as normal.

No known outages.

Except the following:

🔴 KAKM-TV over-the-air signals in Anchorage, Channels 7.1–7.4, are currently experiencing an outage but are available on channels 11.1–11.4.

🔴 KSKA over the air (FM 91.1 in Anchorage) is experiencing an outage.

🔴 Over-the-air broadcast on KAKM Ch 7 audio is impaired on a limited number of TV receivers. Reports appear tied to older/legacy TV devices. This may be related to operating on a backup transmitter while repairs are made to the main transmitter.

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 25 — We will be performing major network upgrades to improve reliability and bandwidth of our broadcast signals. Expect brief interruptions or outages for KSKA, KAKM (Channel 11), KTOO, ARCS radio feeds, and streaming services. We appreciate your patience as we work to serve you better.
