Will & Estate Gifts

A legacy gift is a contribution made as part of your financial and/or estate planning, and can include gifts of equity, life insurance, real estate, personal property, cash, or other financial assets. When you make a legacy gift to Alaska Public Media, you ensure that future generations of listeners, viewers and readers will be able to continue benefiting from our news, programs and services.

Some of the advantages of legacy gifts include:

  • It costs nothing now, yet gives you the satisfaction of knowing you have provided for
    AKPM in the future
  • You retain control of and use of your assets during your lifetime
  • You may modify your gift if your gift intention any time
  • Gifts to AKPM from your estate are exempt from federal estate taxes

Begin making your legacy today.

Please notify Alaska Public Media of your intent to support the station with a legacy gift by returning your completed Legacy Intent Form to Peter Host, Director of Development at phost@alaskapublic.org. All who return a completed form become members of the Alaska Public Media Legacy Society. Originally inspired by the generosity of Alfred Hanisch, Legacy Society Members are a key part of the support that Alaska Public Media receives. Learn more about Mr. Hanisch and his legacy here.

There are many avenues for making these kinds of gifts, and many people find it helpful to read through an Estate Planning Guide, which you can request at the link below.
