Emergency Call from Wrecked Pilot Believed to Be From Sat Phone
Alaska State Troopers say they believe Seth Fairbanks made an emergency call with a Satellite phone when his Supercub crashed into Cook Inlet around midnight August 6. They also say their investigation reveals he called the non-emergency number for the Alaska State Trooper Post in Bethel, not 9-1-1.

M/V Challenger and barge overturned in Nushagak near Kokwok
A Ridge Contracting vessel and barge are overturned and sunk in the Nushagak River near the outlet of the Kokwok. The M/V Challenger with two onboard went down Sunday around 3 p.m.; both onboard are fine with no reported injuries. The cause of the sinking has not been determined yet.Download Audio

Southeast Tourism Economy Hinged on Cruise Ship Travel
