Gov. Walker releases $3.6M for Ambler Mining Road EIS

Strategies for reducing the Alaska Native prison population
https://youtu.be/wfTaeygFI6AAlaska's prisons are full, and a disproportionately large number of the people inside are Alaska Natives. The recidivism rate for that population is about 74 percent. But there are solutions. Mat Su Borough mayor sworn in
Mat Su Borough's October 6 election results were certified on Tuesday evening. All but one. The Borough's District 7 race is being contested by Doyle Holmes, the candidate who lost it. Winner Randall Kowalke will have to wait until an investigation is complete before being sworn in.

The Matanuska-Susitna Borough's new mayor was sworn in Tuesday. Vern Halter was declared mayor after the Borough Assembly certified the Oct. 6 election Tuesday night.
