After an ice jam formed at Napaimute, forecasters are expecting a flood that will bring a rapid rise in river levels.

As breakup continues, the National Weather Service is predicting ice jams and flooding along the river in the coming weeks.

Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta communities are giving their residents a break on their water and sewer bills to offer financial relief, as well as provide more water for residents to wash their hands and their homes to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

With elders to care for, sparse health care infrastructure, overcrowded homes and limited access to running water, many villages are putting their own restrictions into place.
