Joaqlin Estus, KNBA – AnchorageA renowned educator and advocate for incorporation of indigenous world views and observations of nature into western education has passed away. Dr. Oscar Kawagley died in Fairbanks on Sunday after a long struggle with cancer. He was co-director of the Alaska Rural Systemic Initiative, and Alaska Native Knowledge Network, and taught at the University of Alaska Fairbanks Center for Cross-cultural studies for more than 20 years.Download Audio (MP3)
