The House Rules Committee released its version of House Bill 247 Thursday.

The bill doesn’t initially go as far as Governor Bill Walker’s proposal to reduce tax incentives. But it would save the state a similar amount to Walker’s proposal, beginning in 2020.

Anchorage Democratic Representative Chris Tuck says he will seek to amend the bill. The bill gives priority for incentives to companies that hire Alaskans. But Tuck wants to include contractors and subcontractors as well.
