Anchorage sets record for most days without snowfall

A nearly 60-year-old record for low snowfall went down over the weekend. National Weather Service meteorologist Dave Snider confirmed that Saturday night was the 37^th day in a row without snow in Anchorage. The streak had started on January 15^th.

The record was set in 1958 when no snow fell from January 21^st to February 25^th. The record was matched on Friday at midnight and beaten the following evening.

Now February 20^th, 2016 is the day to remember for breaking the winter weather record for most days with no snow.

While Anchorage remained snow-bare, Alyeska resort received so much snow Saturday that it had to close an upper level tram on Sunday. Anchorage received some snow on Sunday, but not much.
