An army sergeant was found dead in his car last week in Anchorage from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. 25-year-old Sgt. Brent Steven Barnett-Lamothe was stationed at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson and originally from Highland, California. He returned from a deployment to Afghanistan last month. His next of kin have been notified. The army has reported over 210 suspected suicides this year, one of the highest rates ever.
