United Way of Anchorage and our partners have been keeping a finger on the pulse of Anchorage since 2006 by collecting data on key measures of our quality of life. We continue to learn new things and deepen our understanding of our community. We use what we learn to drive what we do, and measure our successes and, sometimes, failures.
This year, our report is focused on Education. There is great support in the community around increasing the graduation rate. We are using what we’ve learned to build on our past work, scaling up our efforts where data shows us its working, and adjusting efforts that are not proving up results.
The CAP 2011 Action Report on Education is the “why” behind the “what we’re doing” to achieve 90% by 2020. In it, you’ll find data on the importance of graduation, research on dropouts, and the assets young people need to succeed. You’ll find our core strategies for supporting our youth, the data-driven actions we’re taking to reach our shared community goal.
Most importantly, you’ll find the information you need to get involved. We know what is at stake. We know what helps. We've set a goal and we need your help to get there. Take a look at the CAP Education Action Report and learn what you can do. Make a difference. Take action today.
