Image courtesy of State of Alaska Wednesday evening the state Department of Transportation and Dowl HKM are hosting a public gathering to discuss ways to improve access to Anchorage's fast growing U-Med district. It's a project that's been embraced by commuters seeking traffic efficiency, but questioned by those seeking to preserve neighborhood trails and woods. KSKA's Len Anderson previews the meeting."U-Med" is short for the University-Medical area of Anchorage. It includes both the University of Alaska Anchorage and Alaska Pacific University campuses and contains Providence Alaska Medical Center and the Alaska Native Medical Center. Dozens of private health associated clinics are scattered through the area.Maryellen Tuttle, Dowl HKM's manager of planning and environmental services. says it's a part of town experiencing a lot of growth.
