Ending weeks of speculation, Senator Lisa Murkowski announced her plans to run as a write-in candidate after conceding to Republican candidate Joe Miller in the primary election."To hell with politics, let's do what's right for Alaska," Murkowski said, paraphrasing the late Senator Ted Stevens.She was surrounded by a couple hundred supporters at the Dena'ina Convention Center in downtown Anchorage as she made the announcement.Photo by Patrick Yack, APRN - Anchorage
