The Anchorage Public Library is preparing for a once-in-a-generation renovation of the Z.J. Loussac Library, a vital and beloved Anchorage institution. The Loussac Renewal is a large, multi-year project that will be completed in multiple phases.
The first phase, a facility master plan, began in April 2012. RIM Architects has assembled an extraordinary team of designers, planners and library experts from across the country to develop an inspiring long-term vision for the facility and launch the generational renewal of our beloved community landmark. The second phase of the project, a design outcome of the master planning effort, will be a new main building entry signaling a new “front door” to enhance customer service, to create community engagement, to be climate sensitive, and to provide safety and accessibility.
The plan depends on a high level of community engagement and we need your support! The Facility Master Plan process will have several opportunities for community engagement, including workshops and online forums.
