Kikkan Randall Wins Freestyle Sprint Race

Kikkan Randall’s great World Cup year is getting even greater.  Randall won a gold medal in the freestyle sprint in Dusseldorf on Saturday.  The next day she and Sadie Bjornsen of Alaska Pacific University won a silver in the sprint relay, bested by Mari Eide and Maiken Casperson Falla of Norway.   Last year Randall was second in the freestyle sprint.  The sprint is 900 meters.  This year she started behind but overtook all the competition in the last hundred meters.
