Hawkins Takes Command in USCG’s Valdez Marine Safety Office

The new Commander of the Coast Guard’s Marine Safety Office in Valdez was part of the team that investigated the sinking of the Fishing Vessel Alaska Ranger. MSO Valdez oversees the tanker traffic in and out of the Trans Alaska Pipeline terminal, and the support vessels involved there.  Tony Gorman of member station KCHU was there as Benjamin Hawkins took command Tuesday.
