Commission Proposing $50,000 Pay Raise for Governor

Associated PressThe  Alaska State Officers Compensation Commission is proposing a $50,000 pay increase for Governor Sean Parnell.   It had a hearing Tuesday that was attended by three people.   There will be another hearing before the Commission makes its final recommendation next month.The preliminary recommendation would boost the governor's salary from $125,000 to $175,000.Commission chairman Rick Halford says $50,000 is the maximum the commission could recommend and it may ultimately propose a smaller number or nothing at all.Download Audio (MP3)
