A soldier found dead of a gunshot wound at Fort Wainwright early Monday morning has been identified as a 40-year-old mechanic. Specialist James Paquette of Elgin, South Carolina had served for seven months in Afghanistan and had been based at Wainwright since January 2009. Investigation continues. His body was found near the base's mental health center.
