Alaska Mountain Rescue finds body of missing skier

Searchers from the Alaska Mountain Rescue group have discovered a body in Hatcher Pass believed to be missing skier, Dr. Liam Walsh.

Once the body was located, Alaska State Troopers retrieved the body with a helicopter.

The remains will be transported to the state medical examiner’s office for autopsy and positive identification.

Walsh’s next of kin have been notified.

Walsh went missing on November 22nd, 2016 while skiing in Hatcher Pass.

Severe weather and dangerous avalanche conditions hindered search efforts throughout the winter.
