Shooting for the film Everybody Loves Whales starring Drew Barrymore began in Alaska earlier this month and other production companies are already following suit. Based on legislation passed in 2008, the Alaska Film Production Incentive Program qualifies movie makers up to 44 percent in transferable tax credits. Mike Devlin from Evergreen Films, Carolyn Robinson of Sprocketheads, LLC, and Dave Worell from the State of Alaska Film Office discuss the tax incentive program and “Alaska’s Emerging Film Industry” on this week’s Addressing Alaskans.
