Dr. Jim Murphy comes to Alaska and the University of Alaska Anchorage from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where he has taught and researched natural resource management since 1999. Focused on the use of experimental methods to address environmental policy, Dr. Murphy’s field experiments span worldwide, including Columbia, the Persian Gulf, California and now Alaska, where he’s currently studying natural gas in Cook Inlet and subsistence fishing and harvesting in native villages. Recorded October 31st in Anchorage, Professor Murphy speaks on “Natural Resource Management in the Developing World.”
