Emmonak Postmaster Pleads Guilty to Stealing Thousands

Sharon Andrews used to be the Postmaster in Emmonak. Between 2010 and 2012 she stole several registered mail packages that each contained large amounts of cash inside. Andrews, 54, pled guilty to four felony charges that she stole mail as an officer or employee of the U.S. Postal Service.

Fairbanks Police Chief on administrative leave

The Fairbanks Police Chief is on administrative leave today. The City issued a release yesterday (Wednesday) saying Chief Randall Aragon is on paid administrative leave while the city looks into conflict of interest charges. The release states Deputy Chief Brad Johnson will be acting chief during the investigation.

Fairbanks Militia Member Coleman Barney Sentenced In Federal Court

Federal judge John Bryan sentenced former Fairbanks Peacemaker’s militia member Coleman Barney in Anchorage today to five-year sentences for each of the two counts he was convicted of. The judge said the sentences will run concurrent and there will be credit given for time served. Barney has already been in jail for about a year and a half. Following his release from prison, he will be on probation for three additional years.
