The first human trafficking case prosecuted in the United States happened right here in Anchorage, Alaska. Not My Life is a documentary depicting the dehumanizing practices of human trafficking and modern slavery worldwide. The film was shown at Bear Tooth Theatrepub in Anchorage and followed by panel discussion on slavery in Alaska with Robin Bronen from the Alaska Institute for Justice, Michelle DeWitt from Tundra Women’s Coalition, Jolene Goeden from the FBI and First Lady of Alaska, Sandy Parnell.
