A woman found dead in a park in Bethel on Sunday has been identified. Bethel Police Lieutenant Joe Corbett says she was from Bethel.

Alaska State Troopers arrested a Sleetmute man Friday on a warrant for sexual abuse of a minor. Aniak-based Troopers arrested Sakar N. Zaukar of Sleetmute at his Housing Road residence around 3 p.m.

The Yup’ik fishermen who were cited for fishing during a closure on the lower Kuskokwim River will not appeal their case to the Alaska Supreme Court.
