Residents Evacuate as Rabbit Creek Floods
At least one home is being evacuated in the Rabbit Creek area in South Anchorage, as the creek has overflowed it's banks. The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for Rabbit Creek this morning.

Clean Up Begins On Cargo Ship In Valdez With Leaky Containers
Crews have begun cleaning and decontaminating a cargo ship that has been docked in the Port of Valdez for almost two weeks after leaking containers were discovered onboard. The BBC Arizona’s cargo was offloaded into a decontamination area earlier this week. Coast Guard spokesperson Lieutenant Allie Ferko says all 28 containers will be removed whether they are leaking or not...

Congressional Delegation Split On Taking Meetings With Fuglvog

Kuskokwim Subsistence Salmon Fishery Starts With No Restrictions On Main River
The first King salmon are being caught on the Kuskokwim River and state managers don’t foresee any restrictions for at least a few weeks. Fishermen on the Kuskokwim River can use 8 inch King nets right now, something that was highly restricted last year due to a very poor run. The State’s preseason data calls for another low return this year but so far, managers say there’s no reason to restrict fishing.
