AVCP Requests Mulchatna Caribou Hunting Restrictions

A request by the Bethel-based Association of Village Council Presidents would see hunting of Mulchatna Caribou in Bristol Bay and the Kuskokwim closed to all but federally-qualified users living in those areas from now until July 1 of next year.

Gene Peltola Jr., also known as Buzzy, has resigned from running the Yukon Delta National Wildlife Refuge based in Bethel. He has taken a promotion and is moving to Anchorage to become the Assistant Regional Director for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. ‘Seussical’ To Open At Sitka PAC After 2 Weeks’ Work

Those are sounds from a rehearsal of “Seussical, The Musical.” The Dr. Seuss-themed show takes to the stage in Sitka today and tomorrow. A group of high school students and recent graduates from across the country have spent the last two weeks putting the show together, as part of the Sitka Fine Arts Camp’s musical theater session. Study Says Proposed Livengold Mine Would Lose Money

The proposed Livengood Mining project would not break even at current gold prices. It would require Congress amending the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act.
