Construction Starts on New Mountain Bike Trails at Kincaid Park
Monday night marked the first of many volunteer work sessions that will finish six new miles of single-track mountain bike trails at Kincaid Park in Anchorage. The Kincaid North Singletrack Trails will compliment the existing 9 miles of trails at Kincaid Park.

Assembly Revises Bar ‘Safety Hour’ Law
The Anchorage Assembly unanimously passed a new version of an ordinance that allows bars to stay open for an extra 'safety' hour so that patrons can filter out slowly. The assembly hopes the new version of the law will increase participation in a program aimed at curbing problems at closing time.

Teen Rescued After Sustaining Injury On Float Trip
A 17-year-old boy was rescued by Alaska Air National Guardsmen on Monday. The teen, who suffered a leg injury while on a float trip down the Gulkana River, was picked up after the 11th Air Force Rescue Center at JBER received distress signals from a personal locater beacon and a SPOT beacon before 6 p.m. Monday night.

New Singletrack Trails in Kincaid Park
The new mountain bike trails at Anchorage's Kincaid Park are now underway. Volunteers got started on Monday night, helping to carve out 6 miles of new single-track trails on the north side of the park. Lee Bolling, Vice President of Singletrack Advocates, says the process should go through September.
