The Alaska Film Forum is a non-profit organization dedicated to building Alaska’s film community and encouraging independent filmmaking through exhibition, education, and production. We are a resident of Out North Theatre’s Art House program. Events like Open Projector Night provide a fun, non-competitive environment in which filmmakers can meet, enjoy each other's work, and network with each other.

An Alaska Midwife in Haiti

Lack of skilled health care providers and a lack of access to medication is the everyday experience of those in developing nations. Midwives for Haiti is a non-profit organization training locals to be skilled birth attendants in rural Haiti. Alaska FIlm Forum is partnering with one of those midwifes, to make a documentary film about her experience. Read more.

Open Projector Night 5 at Bear Tooth

Get ready for the next installment of Alaska's open mic filmmaker's showcase - now on the biggest and best screen around.

To attend: Meet and Greet begins Thursday (3/15) at 9pm, screening starts at 10:30pm. Tickets for the event will be $5 for general admission, available at Bear Tooth.

To submit a film: Bring your DVD or Blu-Ray to Beartooth from 11am-7pm on Wednesday, March 14. First come, first serve.
