Senior Director of Finance
Tara Riemer is the Senior Director of Finance and Alaska Public Media. She has worked as Alaska Public Media’s principal finance leader since July 2024.
Before joining Alaska Public Media, Tara worked for 21 years at the Alaska SeaLife Center, including 12 years as President and CEO. She has extensive experience with nonprofit accounting and federal grants management.
Prior to moving to Alaska in 2002, Tara worked as a strategic management consultant for McKinsey and Company in Boston and Auckland, New Zealand. Tara received a B.S. in biomedical and electrical engineering from Johns Hopkins University and holds a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.
Tara lives in Seward, loves hiking local trails, and has been a member of Alaska Public Media since 2003.
