For the past 28 years, Gary Boubel has led major pipeline projects all over the world, including the Gulf of Mexico, offshore China, Indonesia, and Alaska. His talk focuses on political and economic challenges faced while managing the construction, design and start up of two major oil and gas pipelines in particular, the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) in Russia and the Mardi Gras Transportation System in the Gulf of Mexico. Why is Vladimir Putin currently delaying expansion of the CPC pipeline in Russia? The current Vice President and Project Director for BP Exploration Alaska, Gary Boubel provides an in-depth look at the vital, complicated and often misleading job of building international natural gas pipelines.
