Cyrano’s Theatre Company presents The Ticket
It's 1990 and two of Alaska's most famous political figures are meeting. One, Wally Hickel is trying to get the other, Jay Hammond, to serve as his lieutenant as Hickel runs for Governor of the state. The only thing is, it never happened--except in the mind of Cyrano's Theatre Company's Resident Playwright, Dick Reichman who created the fictional meeting as the basis for his new play The Ticket which opens September 9th and runs through October 9th at Cyrano's Theatre. Join Reichman along with actors Matt K. Miller and William S. Murphey this week on Stage Talk to find out what happens.

The Music Machine is 35 years old
It's showtime! The Music Machine is celebrating its 35th anniversary with its annual revue featuring music and dance, but is also bringing back many alumni from all the way back to its beginnings to join the other 75 regular cast members. Director and founder Janet Carr-Campbell along with cast member Abby Webster drop by Stage Talk this week to let us in on what this year's exciting show will be offering. Midnight Sun presents “Baskerville, A Sherlock Holmes Mystery”

Stories at the Cemetery
You'll dig the Cemetery Players Theatre Group as they once again congregate in the Anchorage Memorial Park Cemetery to tell the tales of past famous and infamous citizens of our fair city. The second of three events planned for this summer by the company, Stories at the Cemetery will happen Sunday, July 10th starting at 6:00pm. Cyrano’s The Good Times Are Killing Me
Cyrano's Theatre Company is currently running cartoonist Lynda Barry's (Ernie Pook's Comeek) play about a thirteen year old girl growing up in racially mixed Seattle neighborhood in the 60s:The Good Times Are Killing Me. Kate Grace (who plays Edna Arkins) and Nic Sweet (Scenic Designer) drop by this week to talk about it. The Good Times Are Killing Me runs Thursdays through Sundays until May 29th.

ACT’s Deathtrap

Eire 1916: A Tale of Revolution

History comes alive this weekend at APU's Grant Hall Theatre as Eire 1916: A Tale of Revolution comes to the stage. Inspired by the events of the so-called "Easter Rising" or "Easter Rebellion", which happened 100 years ago this month in Ireland, Eire 1916: A Tale of Revolution uses a mix of live actors, multi-media and music to tell its tale. Phillip Price, who did the lion's share of research for the project (and also appears in the play) joins Director Rodney Lamb and Actor Jodi Clark this week on Stage Talk. The play is produced in association with The Irish Club of Alaska.

Anchorage Opera’s The Mikado

Take a magical trip to a fantasy Japan (seen through 19th Century British satire) as Stage Talk welcomes three of the stars from Anchorage Opera's upcoming production of Gilbert and Sullivan's comic opera The Mikado.
