Cyrano’s The Good Times Are Killing Me
Cyrano's Theatre Company is currently running cartoonist Lynda Barry's (Ernie Pook's Comeek) play about a thirteen year old girl growing up in racially mixed Seattle neighborhood in the 60s:The Good Times Are Killing Me. Kate Grace (who plays Edna Arkins) and Nic Sweet (Scenic Designer) drop by this week to talk about it. The Good Times Are Killing Me runs Thursdays through Sundays until May 29th.

ACT’s Deathtrap

But David Eaton (Sydney Bruhl), Julie Anderson (Myra Bruhl) and Jordan Knudsen (Helga) manage to keep the conversation very much alive this week as they come by Stage Talk. Eire 1916: A Tale of Revolution

History comes alive this weekend at APU's Grant Hall Theatre as Eire 1916: A Tale of Revolution comes to the stage. Inspired by the events of the so-called "Easter Rising" or "Easter Rebellion", which happened 100 years ago this month in Ireland, Eire 1916: A Tale of Revolution uses a mix of live actors, multi-media and music to tell its tale. Phillip Price, who did the lion's share of research for the project (and also appears in the play) joins Director Rodney Lamb and Actor Jodi Clark this week on Stage Talk. The play is produced in association with The Irish Club of Alaska.

Perseverance’s In The Next Room, or The Vibrator Play
Perseverance Theatre is presenting two opportunities for theatre goers this week: Sarah Ruhl's Tony nominee and Pulitzer Prize finalist play, In The Next Room, or The Vibrator Play and The Third Alaska One-Minute Play Festival. Josh Lowman, playwright and director and actors Katie Jensen and James Sullivan join Stage Talk this week to talk about both. We’re “off to see the Wizard” this week on Stage Talk

Urban Yeti meets Scared Scriptless
This week, on Stage Talk, we "make it all up" with two of Anchorage's top improv companies--Urban Yeti Improv and Scared Scriptless. Little Shop of Horrors at Mad Myrnas
The home of "Camp" theatre, Mad Myrnas is presenting for the second year in a row the Alan Menken and Howard Ashman musical Little Shop of Horrors, based on the 1960 low budget black comedy film by Roger Corman. Actors Paige Bohall and Regina MacDonald drop by Stage Talk this week to plant some seeds for discussion. Little Shop of Horrors runs through March 26th.

UAA’s Eurydice
The Greek mythological tale of lost love and a journey to the underworld takes a new turn in Sarah Ruhl's play, Eurydice currently performing at the University of Alaska Department of Theatre and Dance. Join director Ty Hewitt along with actors Kimberly Allely and Angela Colavecchio this week on Stage Talk to hear all about it. Eurydice performs this weekend at the UAA Fine Arts Building Friday through Sunday.

A Crowded House

Toss Pot Productions is presenting a workshop production at Cyrano's Theatre of Kevin Armento's fascinating play about women disguising themselves as men to join the military during the American Civil War in Good Men Wanted. Montgomery wrote several more books about the character of Anne Shirley, and some of those have been tuned into stage plays as well.
