The Trip to Bountiful
This week on Stage Talk, director Elizabeth Hanson talks about Valley Performing Arts' production of The Trip to Bountiful. Written in 1953 by Horton Foote, who also wrote the play To Kill a Mockingbird, (based on the book written by Harper Lee), this play became an award-winning movie in 1985. The Trip to Bountiful opens tonight in Wasilla and runs through May 27.

Extending the Season
Gardening season is upon us in Alaska and according to Eliot Coleman, owner of Four Season Farm in Maine, it doesn't ever have to end. This week on Addressing Alaskans, Coleman shares vegetable and fruit-growing techniques to extend our season here in the far north. His talk entitled, "If We Can Do It In Maine, You Can Do It in Alaska," was recorded at the Alaska Botanical Garden conference.

Ten Chimneys at Cyrano’s
It's the late '30s when famed actors Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne retreat to their estate in Wisconsin (called Ten Chimneys) to prepare for a production of Chekhov's The Sea Gull where they are surrounded by other famed actors, family members and hangers-on. This week on Stage Talk two actors from Cyrano's production of Ten Chimneys join hosts Steve and Jean.

Knik Arm Bridge Update
The Knik Arm Bridge and Toll Authority "KABATA" project connecting Anchorage to the Mat-Su Borough was established in 2003. At an Anchorage Chamber of Commerce Make-it-Monday Forum last week, chair of the KABATA board of directors, Michael Foster said construction on the bridge is expected to finally begin in 2014. Built to accommodate "tomorrow's traffic," the bridge should be fully operational by 2017 or 2018. Listen to Foster's complete update on the KABATA project on Addressing Alaskans.
