World renowned, Pulitzer prize-winning poet and naturalist, Gary Snyder returned to Alaska in early July. As part of the Evening Author Readings at UAA, Snyder read poems he wrote in the early years while living in Japan. He also shared some of his new work which has yet to be published and read from "Mountains and Rivers Without End," a book of poems partly inspired by his time spent in Alaska. In addition to hosting Line One for the past 10 years on KSKA, Dr. Woodard has been a pediatrician specializing in asthma and allergic disease in Anchorage since 1980. Corey Flintoff's public radio journey began at KYUK in Bethel, Alaska where he developed a fundamental cross-cultural understanding that would soon lead him around the world as foreign correspondent for NPR. Traveling to over 50 countries, Flintoff has covered the civil war in Libya, the revolution in Egypt and the war in Afghanistan. Join the fun this week on Stage Talk as Director David Block and Actor Alex Lannin talk about Sam Bobrick's hilarious send up of the bard's most famous play. Anchorage Community Theater and Midnight Sun Theatre Company will present Hamlett II (Better Than The Original) July 6 - 29 in Anchorage.

• Tuesdays at 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm in July - Freakonomics - Hosted by Stephen Dubner, with co-author Steve Levitt as a regular guest [APM / WNYC]. Kids These Days has come to an end. Replacement program TBA.
• Wednesdays at 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm July - The TED Hour - A journey through fascinating ideas, astonishing inventions, and new ways to think and create. Based on riveting TED Talks from the world's most remarkable minds. Hometown, Alaska returns in August.
• Saturdays at 1:00 pm - Radiolab continues. Initially a limited series set conclude in August, Radiolab is now being produced on a weekly basis and will continue to be apart of the regular Saturday line-up on KSKA.

Kids These Days! heard Tuesdays on KSKA produced its final episode this week, however the website - kidsthesedays.org - lives on. The independently-funded, award-winning radio program gave us glimpse inside the life of Alaska's kids today and kept us all connected at to each other and our community at kidsthesedays.org. Piled with tons of fun blogs, helpful family resources and a complete archive of past programs, we hope you will keep the conversations rolling about "Raising Alaska's Future Today" on kidsthesedays.org.

Alaska Fine Arts Academy presents The Jungle Book Kids Fridays and Saturday July 6 - 21 at the Bear Paw Festival in Eagle River. Specially adapted from the beloved film, this musical includes all the favorite Disney songs, like "The Bear Necessities" and "I Wanna Be Like You." KSKA: Friday 6/29 at 2:45 pm

Bartlett High School graduate, Brian Schmidt received the 2011 Nobel Prize in Physics for the discovery of the accelerating expansion of the universe through observations of distant supernovae. In June Brian stopped by the UAA Bookstore to talk about the importance of his Alaska education and his current projects, including building a new telescope to map the Southern Sky. Today Brian is an astronomer at  the Australian National University's Research School of Astronomy and Astrophysics. KSKA: Thursday 6/28 at 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm
