Murkowski Names New Fisheries Aide

U.S. Senator Lisa Murkowski has hired a new fisheries aide.Murkowski’s office says Stefanie Moreland will start next month. Moreland will replace Arne Fuglvog , who pleaded guilty this summer to one count of violating the Lacey Act for falsely reporting where he caught sablefish that were intended for interstate commerce. Fuglvog’s sentencing is set for November.

Barrow Will Vote on Dry Status

An Anchorage woman has died as a result of a two vehicle, Saturday evening accident at an east-side intersection. 22-year-old Carmen Fabiano was a passenger in a sport utility vehicle driven by Andrew Knowles, 22, of Kenai. Their SUV was struck by a Ford F350 pick-up driven by Jonathan Carter, 34, of Anchorage.
