Anchorage Mayor Mark Begich has taken a 3-vote lead over Senator Ted Stevens in the latest vote count update released this afternoon by the Division of Elections. More returns are possible this evening.

UPDATE: As of 7:37 p.m. Wednesday, November 12, the Begich lead over Stevens expanded to 814 votes. So far 278,837 votes have been tallied in the Senate race. Counting is expected to continue Friday and into next week.
