Alaska’s Congressional delegation joined in praising the CIA and military effort that led to the death of Osama bin Laden in statements overnight.
Representative Don Young called bin Laden’s killing “a long time coming” and said “too many lives have been sacrificed in the search” for him.
Only Senator Mark Begich singled out and praised President Obama’s leadership. He said he hopes bin Laden’s death brings “relief” to families of 9-11 victims. Senator Lisa Murkowski called the successful attack on bin Laden a “lesson to the world” that America finishes a fight.
