The sled dog racing season kicked into gear over the weekend with two races. Multiple Iditarod winner Lance Mackey won the Sheep Mountain 150, Ryan Redington was the winner of the Alaska Excursions 120. Meanwhile, two more entries came in postmarked by the deadline for the Iditarod, raising the number of competitors in that race to 62.
