Governor Sean Parnell and Lieutenant Governor-elect Mead Treadwell will be sworn into office today in the Capital City.
The ceremony begins at 11:30 a.m. in Juneau’s Centennial Hall. It will be webcast and carried statewide on “360 North” public television and the Alaska Public Radio Network stations.
The oath of office will be administered about noon by Alaska Supreme Court Chief Justice Walter (Bud) Carpeneti. After signing the oath, both Parnell and Treadwell will address the state.
The Reverend Doctor Walter Soboleff, now 102 years old, has been asked to make remarks at the ceremony. The governor’s Rural Advisor, John Moller, is master of ceremonies.
