BP is putting its drilling plans for the Liberty project in the Beaufort Sea on hold for a year. Company spokesman Steve Reinhart says the company wants to be sure everything is okay with the technically challenging extended reach drilling for the project, which would be drilled directionally from the Endicott platform miles away.
