Another attempt is being made to re-start the Nixon Fork mine. The McGrath area hard rock gold mine shut down since 2007, due to a lack of high quality ore. Mystery Creek Resources, which holds the lease and permits for Nixon Fork, changed hands when the bottom fell out of the venture capital market.
