Alaska is a little below average in a national report released today by Education Week magazine focusing on six key categories affecting educational quality and achievement. Alaska’s highest score is in the area of standards, assessments and accountability and the lowest is in school financing, achievement and professional development.
- House Bill 273: “An Act relating to school funding, the base student allocation, district cost factors, and the adjustments for intensive services and average daily membership calculations; and providing for an effective date.“
- House Bill 274: “An Act relating to a report to the legislature on teacher preparation, retention, and recruitment by the Board of Regents of the University of Alaska.“
