Student Arrested After Bringing BB Gun to School
An Anchorage high school went into lock down this morning (Tuesday, 1/8) after a student brought a gun to school. Anita Shell is a spokeswoman for the Anchorage Police Department. She says another student saw the gun and reported it to an administrator.
Police Arrest Anchorage Student After Online Threats
A possible attack was thwarted by law enforcement at an Anchorage School yesterday (Thursday). Officials are being tight-lipped about details, but confirm that a tip from out of state alerted them that an East High School student was involved in an online plot to attack a school.

From Triad to Dyad: Rationalizing U.S. Nuclear Weapons Delivery Systems
More weapons make the United States less safe, according to Christopher Preble, vice president for defense and foreign policy studies at the Cato Institute. This week on Addressing Alaskans, hear Preble explain why the United States must reduce it's number of nuclear weapons delivery systems in order to increase security and save close to $1 trillion. His talk, "From Triad to Dyad: Rationalizing U.S. Nuclear Weapons Delivery Systems" was recorded at the Alaska World Affairs Council on December 6.

Keyes Autopsy Update
The Alaska State Troopers have provided this update on the autopsy of Israel Keyes:
"The Alaska State Troopers investigation into the 12/02/12 suicide of Israel Keyes while he was in federal custody at the Anchorage Jail Complex has determined that Keyes used a blade from a disposable shaving razor that had been imbedded into a pencil to cut himself on the left wrist. Additionally, Keyes had used a length of bedding material from his cell to strangle himself. A determination from the State Medical Examiner as to which of these injuries, either alone or in combination, primarily contributed to his death is not yet available.
