AK: Bristol Bay artist paints to create hope for young offenders
Bristol Bay artist Apayo Moore has painted murals in Anchorage and Juneau. Moore recently received a grant from the state’s “Percent for Arts” program to paint two 60-foot murals that will be shipped up to Bethel in the fall to be installed in the youth detention center there.

Cyrano’s The Good Times Are Killing Me
Cyrano's Theatre Company is currently running cartoonist Lynda Barry's (Ernie Pook's Comeek) play about a thirteen year old girl growing up in racially mixed Seattle neighborhood in the 60s:The Good Times Are Killing Me. Kate Grace (who plays Edna Arkins) and Nic Sweet (Scenic Designer) drop by this week to talk about it. The Good Times Are Killing Me runs Thursdays through Sundays until May 29th.

Communities around the state are developing solutions to both support families who are involved with the system and prevent kids from going into foster care in the first place. Community members were invited to participate in a conversation about making foster care successful and preventing kids from entering the system.
