Upcoming APTI Board Meeting: Thursday, July 9

The next APTI Board meeting will be held Thursday, July 9 at at 4 pm. The meeting will be held at the Elmo Sackett Broadcast Center, located at 3877 University Drive near the entrance to Alaska Pacific University. The public is welcome to attend.

Western Civilization… a musical?

AK: Juneau’s Nimbus Sculpture – An Ugly Duckling Reclaims Its Throne

What’s big and green, weighs 8 tons, and is shaped like a Kleenex half-pulled from the box? Nimbus, of course. The polarizing and controversial sculpture recently returned to the Father Andrew P. Kashevaroff State Library, Archives, and Museum that’s under construction in downtown Juneau, after a 38-year history that included the piece’s provocation, banishment and eventual resurrection. 49 Voices: Chuck Sassara of Anchorage

For 49 voices this week, AK visits with a feisty long time Alaskan. Chuck Sassara came to Alaska in 1955 from California with his wife Ann. Sassara served in the state legislature in the '60s and '70s, he's been a pilot, a sailor and business owner. He says he got a job the very first day he arrived in Anchorage. Download Audio:
