KSKA: Tuesday, May 24, at 2:00 p.m. Norwegian Ambassador to the United States, Kåre R. Aas, visited Alaska and spoke on what the Norway oil and gas community is doing, insight into how they combat falling oil prices and recommendations for Alaskans and other Arctic countries. DOWNLOAD AUDIO

KSKA: Tuesday, May 19, at 2:00p.m. A record number of kids are currently in Alaska’s Foster Care System. Communities around the state are developing solutions to both support families who are involved with the system and prevent kids from going into foster care in the first place. Jodi visits Pakistan periodically and loves to share/present the meaningful work they do. On January 27, AEDC President and CEO, Bill Popp, presented the 1-Year Economic Forecast for Anchorage and shared the results of the Anchorage Business Confidence Index. He gave an update on AEDC’s Live. Work. Play. initiative and discussed how Anchorage ranks for living, working and playing when compared to the largest city in each state, plus the District of Columbia. Former United States Ambassador to Sweden Mark Brzezinski spoke to the Alaska World Affairs Council at the Dena'ina Center to provide an update on President Obama's Executive Order to enhance coordination of national efforts in the Arctic. He helps American travelers connect much more intimately and authentically with Europe — and Europeans — for a fraction of what mainstream tourists pay. Every month about 1,000 people are released from prison in Alaska. Many of them end up returning to prison. Re-integrating into a community can be challenging.
