Addressing Alaskans

KSKA Tuesday, Aug. 01 2017, at 2:00 p.m. This week we’re hearing from Ambassador Carlos García de Alba, the Consul General for Mexico in Los Angeles on “The New NAFTA: Mexico-US Relations & Trade in the Trump Era.” The ambassador shares his views on the relationship between the U.S. and Mexico. He also discusses what all of the North American countries have to gain by working together instead of moving apart. LISTEN HERE

KSKA: Tuesday, July, 25 2017, at 2:00 p.m. This week we’re hearing Alaskans tell surprising, touching and interesting stories of leadership. We’ll hear from various speakers as they tell their side of what leadership means to them and how they try to carry it forward. LISTEN HERE

KSKA: Tuesday, July 18, at 2:00 p.m. This week we’re hearing about the effects that climate change can have on fragile and native populations. Guest speakers Salote Soqo and Patricia Cochran will address their experiences on the front lines of climate action in the South Pacific and Alaska. LISTEN HERE

KSKA: Tuesday, June, 06 2017, at 2:00 p.m. Though the Arctic regions of the world are remote and less populated, there can still be plenty of innovation to be found. In this show we’ll be hearing from a number of innovators about projects under way, both here in Alaska and abroad. LISTEN HERE

KSKA: Tuesday, April 18 at 2pm. On March 30, 1867 Secretary of State William Seward signed the purchase treaty with Russia and set into motion historical events that have impacted people in very different ways. We're featuring Willie Hensley as he explores the various views of the Alaska purchase, and how understanding the past will help all Alaskans move toward a more inclusive future. LISTEN HERE

KSKA Tuesday, December 13 2016, at 2:00 p.m. Charles Shapiro is president of the World Affairs Council of Atlanta and a senior lecturer at the Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University. Previously, he held numerous senior positions at the U.S. Department of State, including Ambassador to Venezuela, principal deputy assistant secretary for the Western Hemisphere, and Coordinator for Cuban Affairs. KSKA: Tuesday, September 06, at 2:00 p.m. Mayor Berkowitz gave the annual State of the City Report highlighting progress in: increasing public safety, improving fiscal health of the city, tackling homelessness, and increasing development opportunities. KSKA: Tuesday, May 24, at 2:00 p.m. Norwegian Ambassador to the United States, Kåre R. Aas, visited Alaska and spoke on what the Norway oil and gas community is doing, insight into how they combat falling oil prices and recommendations for Alaskans and other Arctic countries. DOWNLOAD AUDIO

He rightly points out that in a world of problems without passports, our security and prosperity depend on unprecedented international cooperation, and that such cooperation is within our reach. Dr. Sinan Ciddi is an expert on Turkish domestic politics and foreign policy. He obtained his Ph.D. from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London in 2007 in the field of Political Science. Dr. Ciddi continues to author scholarly articles, opinion pieces and book chapters on contemporary Turkish politics and foreign policy, as well as participate in media appearances. In addition to his teaching and research responsibilities at Georgetown, Dr. Ciddi also serves as the Executive Director of the Institute of Turkish Studies.
