It's the 35th anniversary of ANILCA, the federal law that reshaped Alaska, literally redrew the map. ANILCA created new preserves and refuges across the state. It nearly doubled the size of the National Park system. It’s a complicated document that took years of negotiation. But Sen. Lisa Murkowski and Gov. Bill Walker say the feds aren’t living up to their end of the bargain.

10 COVID-19 cases reported in prisons across Alaska
The prisons with COVID-19 cases in their general populations are spread across the state. There are four active cases at Anchorage Correctional Complex, three at Ketchikan Correctional Center, two at Spring Creek Correctional Center in Seward and one at Wildwood Correctional Complex near Kenai.

A man overboard from a fishing vessel in the Copper River Delta could not be revived when he was pulled back aboard Monday. He's identified as Cornell Perry Bean Junior, 40, of Kake, who went overboard from the "Esperanza." They say he was only in the water for about ten minutes.

House District 33: Wilson Wins Handily
Incumbent Peggy Wilson will represent the newly-created House District 33. The new district includes Wilson’s hometown, Wrangell, Ketchikan and northern parts of Prince of Wales Island. The Republican captured 58 percent of the vote on Election Day. Initial numbers out of Wrangell put her ahead with 642 votes to Olsen’s 90 and Johansen’s 56.
Missing Bethel Teen Found Dead
A 15-year-old boy was found dead beside a snow machine in Pinky’s Park in Bethel. Police have not released the boy’s name yet, but say his parents had reported him missing and search and rescue volunteers, Alaska State Troopers, and police had all been looking for him.
