Pilot In Fatal Helicopter Crash Identified

The pilot of that helicopter that crashed near the Pogo gold mine Tuesday has been identified as James Hopper, 63, from Missouri. Hopper was alone in the aircraft and was killed when it crashed. He had been on his way to transport workers from the mine.

Medicaid Reform Group Hears Passionate Testimony On Proposed Cuts

The State's Medicaid Reform Advisory Group has met for the last six months in relative obscurity. That changed today (Wednesday) when more than 200 parents, doctors and physical therapists showed up to testify about a list of proposed "innovations" the group hopes will help curtail the growing cost of program. Troopers Arrest Suspect In Deadly July Shooting

Alaska State Troopers have made an arrest in the suspected murder of Damien Sagerser, an Anchor Point man who was found shot to death July 8. On Friday, members of the Alaska Bureau of Investigation arrested 20-year-old Demarqus Deshean Green at his Anchorage residence.
