Chief Operating Officer
At AKPM, Dorothy works in partnership with the CEO and executive management team on operationalizing strategic initiatives, leading cross-departmental projects, and ensuring organizational capacity building objectives. Dorothy began her career with PBS at Nebraska Public Media as a Producer/Director. She continued on to Missouri PBS as the Manager of Television and Community Programs before moving to Milwaukee PBS as their Manager of Production. She has also produced and directed content for all of the major television networks and numerous cable channels. Being a first generation American, Dorothy’s military father instilled in her a sense of duty and adventure, that led her to join the Army, where she retired as a Captain in the Army Reserve. In her spare time, she truly enjoys serving others. She has served as the Chair for the National Educational Telecommunications Association’s Content Peer Learning Community as well as the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging. She has served on the Board of the Colorectal Cancer Alliance, Johnson County Adult Literacy Program, and the Reserve Officers Association. She is also a proud member of the American Legion.
